Request for Proposals Residential Lots for Development
The City of Corning has acquired several residential lots via the nuisance property process. 306 14th St and 1200-1202 lots have been cleaned and are ready for development. The house at 303 10th St will be demolished in the near future. Lots can be purchased individually with the objective for the buyer to build a residential property within the next two (2) years. 1200/1202 Adams Street Zoned R1 306 14th Street Zoned R1 303 10th Street Zoned B2 Property detailed descriptions are located on the City website: cityofcorningia.com (see documents below) or a printed copy is available at City Hall, 601 6th Street, Corning, IA 50841 Submit written proposals to the City Clerk via email at cchall@corningia.net or in person or mailed to City Hall at the above address by December 6th, 2024 at noon. Proposals should include purchase price, proposed time schedule for development. - The City reserves the right to require additional information or documentation at any time during the review period. -The City reserves the right to discuss and review proposals with various City representatives including staff and legal. -The City reserves the right to reject all proposals which are not in the best interest of the City, as determined in the sole discretion of the City Council. -A Public Hearing will be held at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting. Parties who have submitted complete proposals may be asked to give an oral presentation to the City Council. The Council may act upon the proposals following the Public Hearing.

MAP OF WASTEWATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IS ATTACHED BELOW. DIFFERENT COLORS SHOW THE DIFFERENT DIVISIONS (1 - 4). Residential Garbage pick up every Tuesday! Residents can place one bulk item every week in addition to what is in their garbage tote. Items that can be safely handled by 1 person and having a loaded weight not to exceed 40 lbs. A bulk item should fall within the following guidelines: "furniture, bicycles, windows, doors, etc. Bulk items would not include any waste generated by a household business, construction or demolition debris, concrete, brick, asphalt, roofing, parts of vehicles, or hazardous waste. Appliances DO NOT qualify and must have an appliance sticker which can be purchased at City Hall for $30. Recycling Every Other Wednesday. The City of Corning supports fair housing practices.
